By God's grace, I have learned a thing or two in the 44 years since I became a born-again Christian at age 13 in 1980. I have read many Bible commentaries but have often been disappointed that theologians avoid commenting on the passages I looked up. Therefore, my goal in this blog is not to comment on the entire Holy Bible; but rather, to share what I have learned. To God alone be ALL the praise and credit. Jesus is precious!

Exodus 3:11-15

Exodus 3:11-15, “And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name?  what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”

This is an amazing passage of Scripture, which will have a significant impact in the New Testament. God told Moses to tell the Hebrews that “I AM” sent him to deliver them out of bondage in Egypt. With this truth in mind, now you can understand Jesus' claim to deity in the following passage:
John 8:54-59, “Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.”
The wicked Pharisees berated Jesus. They reminded Him that He's not even 50 years old yet, so what could He possible know. Jesus replied by claim to be the “I AM” of Exodus 3:14 and 15. The Pharisees fully understood His claim to deity, evidenced in verse 58 when they tried to stone Him to death with rocks! Can you image, trying to murder God's only begotten Son? I feel sorry for those Pharisees who are burning in Hell this moment and forever. They could have spent eternity in Heaven, if they simply would have trusted in Christ. I have trusted Jesus as my personal Savior since age 13, do you friend? I hope so, because I want you to be in Heaven with me someday.

Only The King James Bible Has Italics

If you have a quality King James Bible, then you will see many words in italics. These denote words which were added by the 54 translators of the King James Bible, which was compiled between 1603 to 1611. If you look up John 8:24 you will see this:
John 8:24, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
The Greek literally reads, “for if ye believe not that I am, ye shall die in your sins.” Carefully notice that the word he is in italics. You must appreciate the honesty of the 54 King James Bible translators. Unlike today's corrupt Bible revisions which just assume what God meant, none of which contain italics, the translators of the King James Bible DIDN'T assume anything. They felt it necessary to add some words for clarity. Those 54 men didn't make the decisions for you. Instead, they put all added words in italics, so that YOU (the reader) could decide for yourself what God meant. I have never seen such honest scholarship. You can trust your inspired King James Bible!!!

I believe Jesus is the I AM, do you? John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Jesus is the virgin-born only begotten (biological) Son of God. He was not just a man or a prophet, Jesus is God almighty who came in the flesh (John 1:1-3, 14).
