By God's grace, I have learned a thing or two in the 47 years since I became a born-again Christian at age 12 in 1979. I have read many Bible commentaries but have often been disappointed that theologians avoid commenting on the passages I looked up. Therefore, my goal in this blog is not to comment on the entire Holy Bible; but rather, to share what I have learned. To God alone be ALL the praise and credit. Jesus is precious!

Proverbs 28:16

Proverbs 28:16, “The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.”

Proverbs 28:16 is essentially saying that a leader who woefully lacks judgment, so that he oppresses the people to acquire their wealth, shoots himself in the foot. But a king who hates ill-gotten gain prolongs his days as king.

We see a perfect example of this Scripture passage violated when Solomon's son Rehoboam, after his father's death, oppressed the Jews financially (even worse than his father did to fund all his building projects), and 10 of the 12 tribes of Israel rebelled to journey north with Jeroboam instead. Thus, the northern kingdom of Israel was started.

A wise leader knows that the people won't tolerate financial tyranny. This is why Iran is collapsing right now, because the cost of food and other life's necessities have skyrocketed overnight by 100%, caused by their wicked leaders devaluing Iranian currency to boost the cost of oil to increase their own wealth. The afflicted Iranian people have had enough of the tyranny!

1st Corinthians 11:14-16

1st Corinthians 11:14-16, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.”

I checked my 'The Strand Study Bible' and 'The Henry Morris Study Bible,' but neither of those authors comment concerning 1st Corinthians 11:16. Taken by itself this Scripture passage can be (and often is) misinterpreted to mean that these issues are not important in churches.

The Apostle Paul is not saying that matters of women's head coverings, and the length of women's and men's hair, do not pertain to the churches. Quite the contrary, Paul is simply saying that this matter is settled in the churches. Christian men are to wear their hair short. Christian women are to wear their hair long. I really like BibleHub.com and use it often in my Bible study. I full agree with the following exegesis from 'The Pulpit Commentary'...
Pulpit Commentary - Verse 16. - But if any man seem to be contentious. St. Paul cuts the question short, as though impatient of any further discussion of a subject already settled by instinctive decorum and by the common sense of universal usage. "Seem to be contentious" is (like the Latin videtur) only a courteous way of saying "is contentious." If any of you wish to be disputatious and quarrelsome about this minor matter of ritual, I must content myself with saying that he must take his own course (for a similar use of the euphemistic "seem," see Philippians 3:4; Hebrews 4:1; James 1:26). We have no such custom. The emphatic "we" means the apostles and the leaders of the Church at Jerusalem and Antioch. Such custom. Not referring to "contentiousness," but to the women appearing with uncovered heads. Neither the Churches of God. If you Corinthians prefer these abnormal practices in spite of reason, common sense, and my arguments, you must stand alone in your innovations upon universal Christian practice. But catholic custom is against your "self opinionated particularism."

There is considerable debate today (as there was in Bible times as evidenced by Paul's addressing of contentious people in 1st Corinthians 11:16), over how long is “long” concerning a man's hair length. My humble opinion is that when a man's hair grows so long that he can be mistaken for a woman, it is too long and sinful. We know from 1st Corinthians 6:9-10 that “effeminate” men are sinning. For any honest Christian person, there is no debate concerning how long a man's hair should be. Shorter is always better.

Many of our nation's founding fathers adorned longer hair, but they still looked manly. Benjamin Franklin's hair was fairly long, but his bald head made it clear that he was a man. It is not my place to condemn anyone. If I see you in long hair as a man, I would never say anything to you, simply because it is not my place to judge. I have grown my hair longer decades ago, and I didn't feel like a rebel against God. I was just being an individual and I felt comfortable with longer hair. But I always looked like a man, my bald head made that abundantly clear. I think this is the crux of the matter, maintaining gender conformity.

I recently told me wife that my hair is getting long and I plan to cut it soon. (I'm waiting for some new blades for my Flowbee hair trimmer.) My wife kindly said that my hair is not long at all. So, long hair is a relative term that we ought not fuss and fight over in the churches. People just want to be loved.

Psalm 89:7

Psalm 89:7, “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”

All I ever hear from the Catholic Church is how great the Pope is, the “Holy Father.” But the inspired Holy Bible clearly warns us in Matthew 23:9 to call no earthly man our spiritual “Father,” for God alone is to be reverenced. I humbly believe that no minister should ever be referred to as “reverend,” because only God is worthy of reverence.

Exodus 22:21 and Leviticus 19:33-34

Exodus 22:21, “Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.”

Leviticus 19:33-34, “And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.”

Someone asked me today if Exodus 22:21 and Leviticus 19:33-34 teach that Christians are obligated to support ILLEGAL immigration into the United States.
The Hebrew word for "sojourn" in Leviticus 19:33 means "to turn aside from the road to lodge as A GUEST" (temporarily passing through the land). This is VERY DIFFERENT than some bastard invading your town to STAY PERMANENTLY, expecting YOU to financially support him and his whole damn family (food, clothes, health care, housing, amenities, transportation, phone, education, et cetera). Only a very wilfully IGNORANT and WICKED person would even try to wrest (corrupt) the Holy Bible to justify ILLEGAL immigration. DEPORT THEM ALL NOW!!!

These passages of Scripture in the Old Testament deal with befriending strangers who TEMPORARILY lodge (sojourn) in the land, not shady criminals who violate U.S. laws by slithering into our country like snakes during the night, and then expect YOU and ME to take care of their sorry hides. I learned a long time ago that anything can be justified, no matter how evil or unethical.

Also, the Hebrew word for "stranger" in Exodus 22:21 and Leviticus 19:33-34 means "a guest." Exodus 22:21, “Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.” This Scripture passage has absolutely nothing to do with criminals who illegally invade our country, and then demand that the U.S. government financially provide employment, healthcare, food, diapers, clothing, phones, transportation, housing, education and a better life for the whole family. It is asinine to pervert the Holy Bible in an ungodly attempt to coerce Americans to support illegal aliens. DEPORT THEM ALL!

ILLEGAL ALIENS are not guests who came to temporarily visit the United States, they are PARASITES who came here to STAY and MOOCH OFF AMERICANS! We've got tens of millions of struggling American citizens today who simply cannot survive on insulting meager minimum wages (which are far below the poverty level). The federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour is significantly below the poverty line, which is set at $15,650 for a single adult in 2025. This gap means that full-time workers earning minimum wage cannot afford basic necessities, highlighting the need for a higher living wage.

Illegal aliens complicate the situation, taking away millions of jobs. The hotel industry employs a significant number of ILLEGAL ALIENS, with estimates suggesting around 137,000 in U.S. hotels, 225,000 in agriculture and 1,500,000 in construction. This reliance on ILLEGAL ALIENS deeply hurts American who cannot find a decent paying job. We're in deep doo doo in the United States, and I assure you thing swill only get much worse.

And by the way, I am sick and tired of the ungodly lying mainstream press (aka, “presstitutes”) dishonestly referring to illegal aliens as “undocumented immigrants.” No Sir, they are guilty criminals! Alcoholism is not a disease, it is the horrible sin of drunkenness! Abortion is not healthcare, it is the abominable sin and heinous crime of first-degree, premediated, cold-blooded, murder! Homosexuality is not an alternative lifestyle, it is the vile unnatural sin of sodomy! Wicked sinners can redefine terms all they want, but they cannot escape the wrath of God on Judgment Day. Job 20:5, “That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?”

The inspired Word of God nowhere teaches that Americans (let alone Christians) are obligated to support strangers who illegally sneak into OUR COUNTRY to PERMANENTLY STAY. The Bible says not to oppress the stranger (the guest) who comes for a visit to TEMPORARILY LODGE FOR A SHORT TIME, it doesn't say to support them!

There is nothing more dangerous than the inspired Word of God in the hands of an idiot. Christians should not support illegal immigration, anymore than we would support stealing, adultery or murder.

Job 3:23

Job 3:23, “Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?”

I heard a helpful sermon this morning by Dr. Hyles titled, “What's The Use Of Having It If You Can't Use It?”

I gleaned these life-changing quotes from the sermon...
“I think everybody in the world ought to write.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “What's The Use Of Having It If You Can't Use It?”

“Though Job did not get to do what he thought he should do with what he knew, he did what he could do with what he knew, and so can you.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “What's The Use Of Having It If You Can't Use It?”
If God does not give you the opportunity you think you deserve to use what He's given you, then you use whatever opportunity God has given you to use what He's given you, and to tell what He's given you.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “What's The Use Of Having It If You Can't Use It?”
Not everyone can become a pastor, but anyone can care about others and preach. Not everyone can become a teacher, but anyone can share their knowledge with others.

Job was frustrated that he had the truth, and the ability to help people, but his hands were tied. This is a great truth preached by Pastor Hyles. As Christian believers, we can all do something to serve God.

Genesis 1:26 - Jesus Was Always The Eternal Son Of God

Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

I like Miss Renee Roland on YouTube and she is my friend on Facebook, because I separate my personal feelings from my Bible preaching. Sadly, she is wrong on the topics of both denying an eternal burning Hell for sinners who reject Christ, and also for denying the eternal sonship of Jesus (which John MacArthur also denies).

I tell you Scripturally, Jesus Christ was ALWAYS the eternal Son of God (Hebrews 13:8). That is why we read the plural pronouns “us” and “our” in Genesis 1:26, referring to the Godhead, when God created the universe. Jesus didn't become the Son of God in His incarnate form; but rather, the Son of God became flesh (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus' name is called 'THE WORD OF GOD' (Revelation 19:13). John 1:1-4 and 14 teach us that 'THE WORD' became flesh, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten Son of God.

Beware of any false prophets who come along denying the Eternal Sonship of Jesus!

2nd Samuel 22:36 and Psalm 18:37

2nd Samuel 22:36, “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.”

Psalms 18:35, “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.”

God's gentleness made David great, by providing the humble shepherd boy turned king with wisdom, compassion, strength and encouragement during trying times. The Lord's gentleness is reflected in His humble and patient dealings with David, which ultimately led to his success and greatness as a leader.

When David commit the horrible sins of adultery with Bathsheba and then murdered her husband Uriah, God forgave David several months when he repented. God continued to use David, although in a limited capacity due to his tarnished reputation in the kingdom. When a leader's name is tarnished, it weakness his effectiveness and influence for Christ.

It could be that the most influential moments in David’s experience of God were not when “the earth shook and trembled” or when “the foundations also of the hills moved” (1st Samuel 18:7b). Perhaps it was when David was when he spared Saul’s life, not once but twice (1st Samuel 24 and 26). Or when David took Mephibosheth, the crippled survivor of Saul’s wrecked dynasty, into his own home (2nd Samuel 9). Or when David protected the survivor of one of Saul’s senseless massacres with his own life (1st Samuel 22-23).

David, the mighty warrior king had great gentleness. It was a gentleness that he had learned from his great and gentle God. The adage is very true: Great men are gentlemen. And gentle men are truly great!

Jude 1:4

Jude 1:4, “ For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grac...
